Sarah Manson, BsC. Biology
Sarah is an early-career biologist with extensive experience in ocean technology and fieldwork. She earned her B.Sc. in Biology with a concentration in Marine Biology (Co-op designation) from the University of Victoria in 2023. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted self-directed research investigating elasmobranch site visitation at coral reef sites in the Maldives, contributing to the understanding of habitat use patterns in the region.
Following her degree, Sarah entered the ocean technology field, where she conducted fieldwork for various Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (USV) deployments. She gained valuable experience in vessel operations, piloting USVs, and operating towed hydrophones for marine mammal observations and vessel detections. Sarah has piloted USVs both locally and internationally for a range of applications, including marine mammal monitoring, IUU fishing surveillance, and marine domain awareness missions.
