Jessica Schultz, MsC. Ecology

Jessica is an experienced marine ecologist and biodiversity scientist with over ten years of experience.  She holds a Master of Science in marine ecology from Simon Fraser University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Honours; marine biology specialization) from the University of British Columbia. Jessica is currently working to complete a PhD in Integrative Biology at the University of Guelph where she is using environmental DNA to assess the impacts of logging activities on British Columbia’s nearshore benthic biodiversity. Her areas of expertise include subtidal ecology, biodiversity monitoring design and implementation, DNA barcoding, and collaborative applied conservation.  

 

Jessica has been a professional diver since 2004 and has extensive field experience working on scientific diving projects in British Columbia, Nunavut, and the Caribbean.
