Carmen Wu B.Sc, BIT

Carmen has been working as a regulatory consultant for three years since she graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and is in the planning stages of an MSc at the University of Victoria.  In her time as a consultant, Carmen has become a qualified professional in the realm of underwater acoustics and marine mammal observation and leads our environmental monitoring program for the development of Underwater Sound and Marine Mammal Observation Plans.  For her MSc thesis, Carmen will be working with academic and industry partners to understand the acoustic soundscape in Burrard Inlet to analyze contributions due to anthropogenic noise and biological sound.  

Carmen supports all phases of our permitting commitments and is particularly proficient in construction compliance management for the development of construction environmental management plans, commitment registers, contractor liaison, and regulatory authority communications.   Carmen has been the lead environmental monitor on several programs, where her strong communication skills allow her to manage tough situations with adaptive management and construction schedule requirements.   

 Carmen is a member in good standing for her Professional Biologist in Training (BIT) designation with the College of Applied Biology (CAB)
